The 25-year-old Reedy and his partner Emily Gindele, were both volunteers with the West Whiteland Fire Company, who were on their way to a call during heavy downpours when their vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree around 9 p.m., authorities have said.
Reedy, of Exton, was pronounced dead at the scene while Gindele, a 24-year-old probationary firefighter, was hospitalized in critical but stable condition at Paoli Memorial Hospital.
Born in the Crimea region of Ukraine to Brian and Tracy (Haberstroh) Reedy, Reedy was a former resident of Selkirk, New York, and worked as a plumber at Done Right Today in Wilmington, according to his obit.
"He loved the outdoors, playing with his dog, cars, and talking for hours a day with his closest friends Ben and Patrick," as stated in his obituary.
Reedy and Gindele had been together for five years at the time of his death and were shopping for rings together, family members wrote.
Loved ones said they will remember his kindness and warmth, his sharp sense of humor, his infectious energy, and his hardworking nature.
"He was known to be a man of integrity with a servant's heart," relatives said in his obituary.
Friends, family, colleagues, and community members memorialized the late firefighter on social media.
In addition to his parents, Reedy is survived by his sisters, Jordan and Addie, his grandparents, Richard Haberstroh and his partner Daphne Brooks, of Lewes, Delaware, and William and Marjorie (Jarvis) Reedy of Albany, and many more loving extended relatives, according to his obit.
